Pregnancy & Antenatal Care

Pregnancy is a journey involving continuous changes in the health of both mother and baby. Pregnancy and Antenatal Care focuses on providing medical supervision throughout pregnancy, monitoring maternal well-being and supporting informed preparation for childbirth.

At Janani Women and Children Care, pregnancy services are supported by Dr. Y. Mounika, MBBS, MS (OBG), a Gold-Medalist Consultant Obstetrician, Gynecologist and Infertility Specialist. Her professional experience includes comprehensive outpatient and inpatient care for obstetric patients, along with delivery and surgical experience.

Care Throughout Pregnancy

Antenatal care provides opportunities to monitor pregnancy progression and identify concerns requiring additional attention. Each pregnancy is different, so follow-up is based on the mother’s health, pregnancy history and clinical findings.

Care may involve:

  • Pregnancy consultations and follow-up
  • Maternal health assessment
  • Monitoring pregnancy progression
  • Obstetric evaluation
  • Birth and delivery planning
  • Assessment of pregnancy-related concerns
  • Guidance throughout different pregnancy stages
  • Post-delivery clinical support where appropriate

Obstetric Experience

Dr. Mounika’s clinical expertise includes normal and instrumental deliveries, Caesarean sections and high-risk pregnancy care. Her postgraduate and professional training also involved managing emergency obstetric situations and participating in life-saving protocols such as severe postpartum haemorrhage management.

Her advanced training in gynecological ultrasound also includes obstetric Doppler evaluation, adding imaging-related expertise to her obstetric background.

At Janani Women and Children Care, pregnancy care emphasizes attentive monitoring, clear communication and individualized medical guidance throughout the journey from early pregnancy toward childbirth.
